I followed on from the cartoonist research by recreating some of my own images of a figurehead that would be the focal point within my final design, They were extremely quick mock up sketchers of references found throughout the internet. These would provide the basis image within the newspaper being made, with other imagery or text surrounding it.
The sketches would then be imported onto Illustrator where they would be illustrated and digitised, in attempting to lay out my design I went ahead and chose the image to the left of David Cameron holding the pig, the main reason being I could get the pose and figure to relate directly to The header or Sub-Header.
